“Is it still Spring?” my friend asked as she looked out at the cold rain pelting the restaurant window. “I hardly know what to wear these days or how to plan.”

“It’s still Springtime,” I assured her as she slumped in her chair. “It just doesn’t look like it at the moment.”

As we ate our lunch together, I turned her question over in my mind. She was right. Appearances can be so deceiving.

The last two years have often made me ponder what season of life I’m really enduring. Family illness, surgery, and recovery have all taken their toll. At times I’ve wondered what I need to “put on” each day–more patience, more empathy–or how to face the next hurdle.

The good news is that each season, like the weather, does bring change. Thanks to time and care, health can be restored.  When that happens, healing offers the chance to pursue the things we love with deeper gratitude.

Now I am so thankful to be busy writing again. My new manuscript is finally finished and almost ready to launch. What’s the story about? The novel is centered around four women, each harboring a secret past, who must work together while racing to protect the truth which could ruin their lives.

Is it still Spring? Yes, and the future is exciting. So many things are on the horizon–flowers, sunshine, and even an enticing plotline.
